Braginsky Collection — The Creation of the World

Jewish Museum Berlin

The Braginsky Collection is a spectacular collection of Hebrew manuscripts. It includes medieval documents, artfully crafted wedding contracts, richly illustrated scrolls, illuminated manuscripts and valuable prints.

We developed a key visual and designed all means of communication for the exhibition, from posters in various designs, façade banners to admission tickets. Ink develops into the calligraphed letter “Alef”, which represents the first letter in the Hebrew alphabet. It shows the development, development and movement — and in a very aesthetic way — the beauty and origin of Hebrew writing culture. This approach was also convincing with regard to the exhibition title “The Creation of the World.”

Ink as the origin of calligraphy — the creation and therefore the basis of the Hebrew script. The ink evolves into the calligraphic letter Aleph, which is the first letter in the Hebrew alphabet. The image shows development, formation and movement, and — in a very aesthetic way — the beauty and the origin of the Hebrew script culture.
